Precision Under Pressure – For More Than 125 Years
1899 - 1920: Foundation & Expansion
The history of our company begins with the founding of Märkische Nietenfabrik Trappe & Hohage. Initially specialising in the production of wire and hot-formed heavy-duty rivets, the company expanded its portfolio in 1920 to include cold-formed rivets – a pioneering step that laid the foundation for our current expertise in cold forming.
1956 - 1969: Strengthening Our Focus on Cold Extrusion
A new era began in 1956 when the Hohage family retired from the company. Under new management, a decisive milestone followed in 1969 as we intensified our focus on cold extrusion.
At the same time, we expanded our production capabilities to include machining as a post-processing step, enabling us to meet increasingly specific customer requirements.
1970 - 1993: Development & Transformation
In 1970, Hans Röttger Trappe took over the management of the company and played a key role in driving its further development, including the establishment of a specialised toolmaking department.
In 1993, the company was renamed MN Kaltformteile, reflecting our expanded business focus and strengthening our position within the cold forming industry.
2006 - 2012: Relocation & Strategic Development
2006 marked a decisive turning point. Instead of simply relocating, we built one of the most modern cold forming production facilities in Europe – a forward-looking investment that took our efficiency and production quality to the next level.
In 2010, a change in the shareholder structure followed, setting the course for sustainable growth and strengthening our technological development with a clear focus on the future.
2016 - 2018: Expansion & Strategic Development
In 2016, we secured valuable space for future expansion by acquiring a 20,000 m² plot of land. This created the foundation for new machinery and advanced production technologies, enabling us to further expand our production capacity and support sustainable growth.
In 2017, we received DIN ISO 14001 certification, highlighting our commitment to responsible environmental management.
In 2018, MN Kaltformteile GmbH & Co. KG was officially registered, marking an important step in strengthening our corporate structure and positioning us even more clearly as a specialist for cold-formed components.
2024: 125th Anniversary
In 2024, we celebrate 125 years of innovation, quality and technological progress in cold forming – a milestone that highlights our long-standing tradition and continuous development.
